The attack came to light on Sunday, Feb. 21, when the victim came to the. Torrington Police Department to report being physically assaulted over the past several days by a man later identified as Cedric Brown, of Torrington, said the Torrington Police.
The victim sustained significant injuries from this incident, police said.
The victim was immediately transported to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital via ambulance while patrol officers accompanied the victim and also secured the scene where the incident was reported to have taken place.
The victim was able to describe the attacker in detail and also explain where and how the numerous assaults took place over two to three days.
The victim was prevented from leaving the residence and blocked from being able to seek any type of help throughout the duration of the incident, the department said.
When located, Brown, 50, denied any knowledge or involvement with the assaults.
Based on an investigation, Brown was later charged with the following:
- Criminal attempt to commit assault
- Kidnapping
- Strangulation/suffocation
- Sexual assault.
- Burglary
Brown is currently being held on a $750,000 surety bond.
